How Much Does Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Cost? -Individual KAP in Utah and Arizona

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Cost at Senses

One of the first questions people have when considering ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is understandably: How much does KAP cost?

The answer isn't always straightforward. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy involves more than the medicine itself and may include preparation, a medical evaluation, the ketamine prescription, therapist-supported dosing sessions and post-ketamine integration.

At Senses Relationship Studio, I've intentionally structured individual KAP differently tan programs that require a large package upfront. Your treatment is individualized, which means your ketamine-assisted psychotherapy cost depends on the support you actually need.

Here's how it works:

Preparation for Individual KAP

Before beginning ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, I required 1-3 preparation sessions. These sessions give us time to determine whether KAP is an appropriate fit, establish a therapeutic relationship, discuss what you're hoping to work on and prepar you for the medicine experience.

Preparation session pricing:

  • 50-minute therapy session: $130

  • 90-minute therapy session: $200

The number and length of preparation sessions will depend on the individual.

Medical Evaluation & Ketamine Prescription

Ketamine is a prescription medication, so you will also need to meet separately with a qualified medical prescriber to determine whether ketamine is medically appropriate for you... as a therapist, I am not qualified to make those decisions and will leave that entirely up to the medical prescriber.

The medical evaluation is approximately $100-$150 and is paid directly to the prescriber.

The cost of the ketamine prescription is separate and is paid directly to the pharmacy. Medication costs can vary depending on the prescription (amounts, dosing, frequency, etc) and the pharmacy. Many of the pharmacies our prescriber works with can do delivery.

Therapist-Supported KAP Sessions

A therapist supported KAP session is a 90-minute session for $200.

During these sessions, you take your prescribed ketamine while we are together in therapy. What happens during that time can look different from person to person.

Some people want to talk during portions of the medicine experience. We may incorporate simple somatic or embodiment practices. Other times, the experience is more inward and requires less interaction.

There isn't a specific way you're supposed to experience ketamine.

My role is to support the therapeutic process while allowing you room for your individual experience to unfold.

Post-Ketamine Integration Sessions

Integration can also happen after a ketamine dosing experience.

If you've completed a dosing session separately, we can use a subsequent therapy session to explore what arose, process emotions or insights and consider how the experience connects to your everyday life.

Post-ketamine integration sessions can be:

  • 50 minutes: $130

  • 90 minutes: $200

You don't have to decide your entire KAP treatment plan before you begin. We discuss these options together and determine what makes sense as your work progresses.

Why I Wanted to Make Individual KAP More Accessible

One of my priorities when developing individual KAP at Senses was finding a way to make this work more financially accessible without removing the therapeutic support that makes KAP meaningful.

Ketamine programs can sometimes require clients to commit to predetermined, multi-session packages with a significant upfront cost. I didn't want everyone to have to follow the same path. Instead, individual KAP at Senses is designed around flexibility.

You pay for the preparation, therapist-supported dosing and integration sessions that are appropriate for your individual treatment rather than being required to purchase a predetermined KAP package. That allows us to individualize the work while keeping the financial commitment more manageable.

What Will My Total KAP Cost Be?

There isn't one set ketamine-assisted psychotherapy cost because each person's treatment plan can look different.

At a minimum, you should plan for:

  • 1–3 preparation sessions

  • a medical evaluation with the prescriber

  • the cost of your prescription

  • therapist-supported KAP and/or integration sessions

We'll discuss your options together so you understand the therapy costs and what I recommend before moving forward.

The prescriber and pharmacy fees are separate from Senses and are paid directly to those providers.

Does Insurance Cover Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?

Senses Relationship Studio is a self-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. However, some insurance plans may reimburse eligible psychotherapy services as out-of-network benefits. I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your individual insurance plan and is not guaranteed.

You may also use an HSA care for eligible services.

Individual KAP in Utah & Arizona

If your'e searching for KAP in Utah or KAP in Arizona, cost is important, but I also encourage you to consider the therapeutic support surrounding the medicine.

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is more than taking ketamine.

Preparation matters. The therapeutic relationship matters. What happens around the medicine experience matters. AND integration matters.

Individual ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in Utah and Arizona through Senses is designed to give you access to those pieces without requiring you to commit to a one-size-fits-all package.

Individual KAP Looks Different for Everyone

One person may benefit from several therapist-supported dosing sessions.

Another may complete some ketamine sessions separately and meet with me afterward for integration.

Someone else may use a combination.

These decisions are made collaboratively between you and med based on your goals, your experience with ketamine and the level of therapeutic support that feels appropriate.

That's intentional... there isn't one KAP experience that works for everyone, so I don't believe there should be only one way to structure it.
